No Bake Cookies
My great aunt, Regina, volunteered this recipe for the parish cookbook years ago. I started making these when I was still a young lass and have made them ever since.
No Bake Cookies
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
Place these ingredients in a saucepan, stir well and heat to a boil over medium heat, stirring often. Boil for 1 minute (This is an important step if you want the cookies to set up and harden.)
In mixing bowl, mix:
3 cups quick oats
1 tsp. vanilla
6 Tbsp. powdered baking cocoa
3/4 cup peanut butter (This will melt when you pour the ingredients from the saucepan on it.)
Pour the hot saucepan ingredients into the mixing bowl and stir well.
Drop by Tablespoon onto waxed paper.
Cool and store in airtight container.
