Old-Fashioned Gingerbread Cookies
I'm often asked for this recipe. I'm sharing it here with you.
Old-Fashioned Gingerbread Cookies
Cream together:
2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
Add:
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
Sift and add to above:
4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
Wrap tightly and place in refrigerator for several hours. Roll dough thin and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 325 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Decorate with raisins, red hots, frosting, etc.
