Real Hummus
Three out of four Sturgeons love hummus. It's so easy to make from scratch. Tahini is easy to find in the health food section of our local Fred Meyers and Wild Oats.
Real Hummus
1 clove garlic
1 -- 19 oz. can garbanzo beans, half the liquid reserved
4 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. tahini (sesame butter)
1 tsp. salt
black pepper to taste
2 Tbsp. olive oil (I omitted this.)
In a blender or food processor chop the garlic. Pour in garbanzo beans (you can reserve about a tablespoon for a garnish on top if you want to make it pretty)
Place lemon juice, tahini, and salt in blender or food processor bowl and blend until creamy and well mixed.
Transfer to serving bowl, Sprinkle with pepper and pour olive oil over the top (optional). Garnish with reserved garbanzo beans.
