Cherry Chocolate Chip Muffins

Blogger has been a bit "glitchy" lately and posting photos without text on top is a big challenge.  I also have to content with the lovely shamrocks that suddenly appeared.  I've tried to make the ingredients more readable by changing the text color.  

Cherry Chocolate Chips Muffins

2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup canola oil
1 tsp. almond extract (I used vanilla)
1 cup halved maraschino cherries
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used mini chips)

Preheat oven to 350 F.
In a small bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, combine eggs, milk, oil and extract.
Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until just moistened.
Fold in the cherries and chocolate chips.
Pour batter into paper-lined muffin tins until cup is 3/4th full.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool for 5 minutes before removing from tins.
